I aim to always work within an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed perspective which honours your lived experiences and the complexities of what it means to be uniquely you. As a queer person who has benefited greatly from my own therapy, I know how important it is to have a nonjudgmental space where I can show up as my whole and authentic self and have my grief, loss, and doubts witnessed and validated. I would be honoured to create that space with you.

You can expect me to draw from multiple therapeutic modalities as I accompany you with warmth, compassion, and understanding as we uncover your areas of resilience and build up the resources you need for your journey.

I love working with clients who are 2SLGBTQ+, neurodivergent, exploring identity formation, processing religious based harm, and/or navigating grief. If you think we might be a good fit to work together on these or other concerns, I welcome the chance to connect with you!

Ubuntu is a Zulu word that means, interconnectedness and Unity. It also encourages us to treat each other with compassion, empathy and kindness, these are some of the important values I carry with me. Being Afro-Trinidadian woman with extensive intersectionalities, I practice from an Culturally Responsive and Socially Just (CRSJ) model. I follow these values and models in my personal life when dealing with my low and high moments, I lean on my village, that could be my psychotherapist, elders, or loved ones. I would love to be the person you consider part of your village of people that is able to help guide you through challenges such as generational trauma, healthy relationships, anxiety, depression, goal setting, or boundary work.

I know firsthand what it can be like to feel hopeless and to not be sure what direction in life to choose as it relates to career, relationships and dealing with the challenges of daily life and mental health while parenting, working, and continuing your education. Seeking help has always been my go to, it brings so much clarity and organization to my sometimes chaotic life. Speaking to a professional that can help me put my thoughts in order and give me amazing tools has also made me the best me, and it continues to make me the best version of myself for not only me, but the the community I serve.

I have ongoing experience working with youth aged 14-19 as it relates to their mental health by offering social, emotional and behavioural support. I hope to continue my work in the community and create a safe space for people from all walks of life to feel supported, no matter their age. I would love to be a part of your village!
